    Asked about foreign shareholders in sensitive infrastructure such as the ports of Hamburg or Piraeus,

    Remember when Piraeus was sold to China and comment sections were pointing out the risk? The risk hasn’t changed. Why was it possible to sell to China in the first place?

    This seems similar to those who say a fully American digital infrastructure is fine since it’s cheaper.

    Might be cool in the short-term, but in the long-term it’ll be a great threat to European autonomy.

    True, it is very good for countries to build up dependencies on their critical infrastructures. It makes them more resilient towards independence.
