  • The problem is that people is unable to find where to put their despair (in this case, support for Palestine) to real and concrete action. So, instead of joining Red Cross or something, they come here to fight the moderation team (i.e. calling us Nazis or assuming we support EU nations giving weapons to a state that’s been accused of genocide). This is because we happened to draw a line as to “how” you should criticize Zionism.

  • @mriswith@lemmy.world It would indeed be great if you could avoid throwing around such accusations. There surely is a time & a place for such but …

    1. From my outsider’s POV, I don’t know if I agree with the argument that this is just a diversion measure. However, politicians regularly perform media-attention sleight of hand of that sort, so it’s imo at least a somewhat credible argument.
    2. If you do notice a pattern, it would be great if you could DM this mod account first.

    Thanks!

  • “Exclusion of the right extremists”? you mean like, when the conservatives formed a coalition with them?

What do you think will now happen? AfD will just disappear? East Germany will suddenly vote for conservatives or leftist?

You didn’t exactly try to answer the question by @bennypr0fane there … making this part of your response seem a little disingenuous:

and it is funny that people don’t get it and just downvote me instead of engaging in a discussion

(Fwiw, I agree, acting on underlying issues such as social issues is really important. However, another one of the underlying issues is state financing of their propaganda, and that is now much easier to stop.)
