I went without tea for 12 hours and I felt ten years older and my eyes were about to pop out of my head. Oh no.

I’ve been flip-flopping between being caffeine free (for stints of 1 week) and having about 2-3 cups every day.

Dropping caffeine feels like your body realises it has a sleep debt to fulfill, and it seems to result in a bunch of headaches at first. Picking it up again after quitting can also cause me headaches.

I feel healthier when not drinking it - especially in the bowels - and having a cup in the evening after a period of not drinking it leaves me awake well into the night.

I went off of caffeine for health reasons (IBS), but I found that drinking about half a cup a day notably improves my overall wellbeing even after I got over the caffeine addiction withdrawals, while not being enough to have a big impact on my digestion.

My IBS is the diarrhea type, and caffeeine exacerbates that. Other caffeine sources aren’t any better as far as I can tell, and I drink several cups of decaffeinated coffee pay day these days.
