      The answer to your objections is policies. That does not mean at all that we should rely on policies alone to achieve independence.

        Then which problems cannot be solved with policies? I think my objections are already part of those problems.

          The point is: policies alone are not enough to achieve independence, but can be a tool to address your objections.

            Address, but not solve. Turning this into an endless struggle is good for the hegemons, but not for Europe.

                It can work, but in a free market, that means tax breaks or subsidies.

                Policies.

                Unless the EU offers reach global scale, they will always need subsidies. This requires that taxes have to be spent that could be used otherwise. So the EU will start to decline in other areas, too.

                  I think you misunderstand. These policies can only ensure that European companies have a competitive advantage on our own market. That’s the first step. Everything else beyond that is pure speculation at this point.

                    What gives you the confidence that it will lead to somewhere? I think the US has already prepared for step two.
