It is a “game-changer for Russia”, said one former Ukrainian official. With Kyiv also contending with slower deliveries of air defence interceptors from the US, the missile campaign has destroyed key military facilities and critical infrastructure ahead of winter.

Ukraine’s air force on Wednesday reported all four Iskander-M missiles fired overnight had eluded the country’s defences and hit their targets.

If we could just start to properly support Ukraine the war would be over quite soon. But no, we have to give them juuust enough so they don’t outright lose.

The MIC will get a lot of money regardless of whether the war goes on for a few months or a few years, because Europe has realised they can’t depend on the USA, and will be forced to waste money on weapons accordingly

I’ll be honest, I’d rather we waste money on paying Hans to build Leopards than paying John to build Abramses.

          Hans pays taxes here.

            2westerneurope4u is leaking

In reality, we will spend billions on Jean-Jacques arguing with Hans and Giovanni about who gets to do what, until Jean-Jacques says “vas te faire foutre” and increases his public debt well north of 200% developing his own things but with baguettes and hookers, while Hans pays Giovanni to build something inferior to the US product, because the development budget got 1/2 smaller and also we’ve already spent 80% of it on bullshit.

Europeans need to come the fuck together. There is no other way.

Versatility is resilience though, so a bit more together but not a “f35-fit-all” thank you. That’s my opinion anyways.

Versatility of a single well designed platform is probably more valuable than 5 low-volume platforms

That’s why I said what I did, which isn’t 5 low-volume platforms, neither one shove everything into it platform.

Why would we be giving money to the usa when it has threatened to attack us?

Literally everything they ask for, in the amounts they ask for.

It would even be cheaper: full tilt for a few months and then peace vs a trickle for years and years and years.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told the European Union’s top diplomat that Beijing can’t accept Russia losing its war against Ukraine …

Have you done the calculations? What does Ukraine need to win against Russia supported by China?

Time to find out where they’re made and strike. I just really would rather the answer is not “in China”.

Edit: factory said to be in Votkinsk, not far from the border of Ukraine. Looking forward to news from that direction.

Analysts said software adjustments were likely to be the reason behind the Russian missiles’ increased effectiveness. Fabian Hoffmann, a missile researcher at the University of Oslo, said manufacturers routinely mine interception data to improve performance. Russia, he said, appeared to be doing this.

Apparently this is not about raw power/material/manufacturing but mostly a software/electronic components thing. There’s only very few countries left they could’ve gotten that stuff from and Russia sure as hell cannot make these things by themselves.
