Police in the Czech Republic have finally arrested the driver of a Formula 1-type racing car which had been spotted on the motorway on numerous occasions since 2019.

If you’re willing to run, have a plan, and have a wicked motor vehicle, chances are you can get away. I think the infamous ‘ghost rider’ was never caught, despite him literally releasing/selling vhs tapes of himself running from the cops, and doing it for years. He gave it up because of boredom and the possibility of getting hurt costing more than he was bringing in.

A motorcycle is probably easier to hide than a red race car though, so maybe they had some additional tricks they pulled.

Oh, no idea. I just remember the videos back when youtube was still relatively niche. They were always little clips of him baiting the cops and losing them in seconds on an onramp and such.

Ah ok…yeah there was a full length movie I got off someone on LAN, after I saw the short clips, with him doing the bike stuff but also driving around in his Subaru (I think?) even getting away from a helicopter. But I don’t know whether that was actually him or another random driver that got included. It was in Sweden so possibly him…

A man identified as his son told local media that the house had been surrounded by several dozen police cars and a helicopter, in what he said was a disproportionate response “to a supposed traffic violation of ours.”

He said police “allegedly saw us towing a Formula 1 car which they claimed had been speeding along the motorway a few minutes earlier - of course we know absolutely nothing about this.”

Bit of an odd statement from someone with an F1 car on their property, being moved mere minutes after sighting of an F1 racing car on nearby local roads. Something tells me that there’s going to be a short list of additional suspects with F1 Ferrari for Police to point the finger at…

Ah, but they don’t have an F1 car, they have a Dallara GP2/08, which was used in the GP2 series! An entirely different thing!
