Right-wing Trump supporters in Central and Southeastern Europe have operated in a legal gray area for years. After the US attack in Venezuela, there’s a growing awareness that Trump could pose a threat to them too.
Yes, although I am not yet too convinced that this will be the case. Having that said, the populists in Europe are closely aligned not only with the MAGA Republicans in the US but also with the autocracies in China and Russia. They are posing the same threat as Trump.
Also don’t forget this alignment isn’t a form of direct loyalty between individuals who have the same goals, it’s a widespread ideology (which on it’s own is a valid thing) that is fueled through misinformation and works by dismantling agencies that protect the balance of power (think independent journalism, justice systems, law enforcement). Even isolated they could reach a position where they get enough power to kill the democratic order of a country, they are fighting against a rule-based order and that rule-based order doesn’t fight back enough if you ask me.
