I wonder how your scenario plays out if they decide you don’t really need midterms, or more presidents for that matter?

If it becomes a full on totalitarianism and there’s no civil war, we’re plain and simple fucked.

I can’t stress this enough: there’s no military power anywhere near the level that US military is on.

For context: the top four most powerful air forces on the planet are:

    1. US Air Force
    2. US Navy
    3. US Army
    4. US Marines

    And then China.

They’re so fucking OP it’s not even funny.

Those four are still composed of messy human elements. You can kill your own civilian population for sure, but then you have no nation anymore. I also highly doubt everyone in all your military and espionage branches are willing to start gassing people without any armed resistance.

I mean, good luck with that.

You keep thinking in black or white while reality is usually not that simple.

I feel like you’re jumping from “US has super strong military” to “US is literal Fourth Reich and will build death camps”, but I don’t know why.

My point was: if EU takes an aggressive stance against Trump, they risk a literal EU-ending catastrophe. If EU tries to placate him, they risk losing Greenland - and that’s probably temporary too.

I’m not saying they’ll start exterminating the population, but eliminating the EU military would be more than enough - russian hordes would then do the rest, assuming US doesn’t go all “see, now you need our protection, here’s the bill”.

How do you think fighting all of Europe and your own population at once would go for the US military, especially a fractured one? You’re not hiding any of it from anyone either, unlike what could be achieved back in the 1930’s.

Even if Russia joined in on the other side I doubt it’d be fun for anyone involved. China would certainly enjoy it for a while but that’s about it.

You already have what could be called death camps in your soil. They tried to kick out their undesirables before they resorted to killing them in the third Reich, too. Except for the ones that started dying imminently, of course. You’re not hiding those camps from anyone either, not in 2026 and not as long as the internet exists.

I bet Venezuela will be such a nice place to live after the US will “use the oil money and put it back to the Venezuelan people”, too. Nobody believed that, absolutely nobody. It’s quite the lie to say that while simultaneously taking away all safety nets from your own population. Come on, seriously?

This is assuming the US population would do anything.

Like, most probably they will, but it’s not a given, considering the military still adhered to a lot of illegal orders recently - the deployment of Marines to LA was most probably illegal (that’s at least debatable), the killing of random people on Venezuela’s seas was 100% illegal, the invasion itself was illegal (no Congress approval) - all of this makes me think that they wouldn’t have too much trouble attacking the EU too, even though a large portion of them trained with the EU troops for decades, even fought alongside them in Afghanistan and Iraq.

You already have what could be called death camps in your soil

Me? No, I don’t have any death camps on “my” soil.

You wrote “If it becomes a full on totalitarianism and there’s no civil war, we’re plain and simple fucked.” earlier. Either you’re American or you’re not, pick one.

Read that again, mate, but slower. Nothing in that sentence suggests I’m an American, quite the opposite, actually.

In that case your views are even dumber, seeing as you’re stating things left and right on random like they’re hard facts. Note that I haven’t necessarily disagreed with you, merely stated that things can go several different ways and we don’t know anything for sure yet. Yet you’re still clinging on the belief that your view on the matter is the only correct one and everyone else is dead wrong. Dangerously arrogant, that.

                    I’m sorry, what…? Please elaborate.

Yet you’re still clinging on the belief that your view on the matter is the only correct one and everyone else is dead wrong

How is it surprising that I stand by my own opinion…? That’s what opinions are, mate. I’m stating facts about US military strength, and opinions about how a potential war between US and EU would go. I firmly believe that the US - even without the European bases - would roll over EU, because EU is reliant on US tech for comms and intelligence.

You haven’t even attempted to refute any of that, just went for “you’re arrogant”. Come on, be better.
