Erdogan is brilliant at playing both sides. Europe and Russia, Europe and the middle east.

He understands that Turkey is indispensable for both sides, so like a kid from divorced parents he knows exactly how to work this into his favor.

I hate the guy and what he did to democracy in Turkey tbh, but this is the game he plays most cunningly. Not many nations can get away with shooting down a Russian jet and get away with it.

I’m this case he’s calling out European hypocrisy, as he knows they care about that. He doesn’t.

I think they see it, they just dont want to do anything about it because of guilt.

      guilt

Supporting genocide in the name of “genocide - never again” is an epic level of mental gymnastics worthy of a gold medal.

The politician play into the guilt. The people that know about the gaza war well enough are fully aware of this and we hate it. See Merz’ speech to the jewish lady a few weeks ago, where he started to “cry” because of her backstory. Can’t call out that it’s a move to support isreal, because that’s the place that germans currently associate Judaism with, because if you do, you’re an insensitive racist.

Let that sink in: You’re an insensitive racist because you don’t want politicians to cover up a current genocide with a past genocide.

They don’t have to be anti semite, but they should be allowed to be anti-zionist. Nowadays there’s lots of confusion with the 2 terms.

Ah yes, the great protector of muslims, who doesn’t utter a single chirp about the genocide on the Uighurs
