In an open letter to the Irish government on Thursday (23 October), signed by the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, noyb, ARTICLE 19, the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom, plus 40 others, highlights the conflict of interest Sweeney brings to a position that is supposed to police the same firms in which she used to work.
Enough outrage to remember for the next election? Probably not. Enough outrage to spam ministers and cabinet members with emails? Probably not.
It’s a global coup to create a global surveillance state.
It’s worse than that. They will usurp rule of law and democracy on a global scale. Nothing can stop them, because they have all the money and own the planet, and we have collectively as a civilization agreed that money supersedes everything.
This has been coming for a long time, the return of feudalism, this time AI powered, with total surveillance, and faceless rulers that live in castles in the sky.
You can stop them. They don’t control democracy … yet.
the corruption happening openly like always great
They know we can’t do anything about it.
The news is not new, but it’s good that there is resistance. The EU is (and shall) not be like an autocracy where everything follows the single-party rule, but there is obviously an unacceptable conflict of interest.
Let’s let the wolf herd the sheep. What could possibly go wrong?
The European common market really doesn’t work if countries are using it to enrich themselves at the expense of others. I really do not want big tech to be in Ireland, because Ireland doesn’t enforce any data protection rules. I also do not want gambling sites from Malta preying on users in my country with nobody to enforce the rules. And I also do not want companies moving their HQs to Luxembourg for lower taxes. The EU really is broken here.
Yeah, that’s what they do. They just buy their way into influence. Our democracy is not strong enough to withstand the onslaught of the power of money. Capitalism needs to be fundamentally checked at every level, or it will supersede rule of law and democracy causally.
If money is power, then capitalism is a form of government, and fundamentally incompatible with democratic rule.
Ireland, I’m not surprised, we are indeed West Brits. The American Trojan horse used to be UK, and now we took the title.
