I’ve travelled a couple times, Budapest Munich, Munich Budapest, Zagreb Split, Split Zagreb, Zagreb Budapest, Berlin Hamburg, Budapest Cluj. It really depends on the train operator and the wagon you get. Which you often won’t know until you actually board the train. Unless it specifically states that it’s an overnight train with berths.

I’ve travelled on one that had six person cabins but the seat couldn’t even be pulled out and leaned back. But was fortunate enough to snag one once where my gf and I had completely randomly been assigned to a three-bunk cabin with no one else boarding for the whole trip and the ability to lock the door/pull curtains. 😏

On Prague-Budapest I got a berth but it was too short to lie on, and there was an annoying piece of metal at the end of it. They also simply parked the train for 4 hours, right under some very bright lights
