Firefox isn’t chromium
I stand corrected
Oh I’m in Connecticut, which is tied for best score on the whole map. I hope you manage to turn your state around though. Stay safe out there.
Speaking of ignorance…
Nice to see my state at the top of the list
I remember drilling out the the write protect hole so I could reuse them. Floppies were expensive and I was broke as a teenager, I loved aol disks.
VMs aren’t emulation. Its a full OS running on virtual hardware. Also, yes, azure offers several distros, not just Microsoft’s.
The OS of the bare metal host shouldn’t matter much, if at all, to the guest. If you have a philosophical issue with the hypervisor running under windows I doubt you’d be using azure to begin with.
Its not emulation, it’s a Microsoft distro
Already exists as a VM option on azure
Elitism and gatekeeping.
Its time to retire the metric system in favor of something base 12. Base 10 is for children who need to count on their fingers, base 12 is easier to divide into quarters or thirds. Babylon was right.
it’s my time I’m spending on it.
You are being paid for that time. If you sell something it is no longer yours.
So much horrible advice in this thread.
The machine the company issues you isn’t yours, it’s theirs. Wiping out their image and installing another OS is a fantastic way to get fired. If you handle any PII, HIPAA, or PCI data it’s also a fantastic way to get sued or charged with a crime.
I hear the unemployment line is nice this time of year
I started unplugging the Ethernet cable when I leave for work so IT can’t do any behind the scenes when I’m away.
Speaking as an IT guy, don’t do this. Its not your computer, and it’s our job to manage it. If you don’t like the company’s policies go work somewhere else. This is how you get my boss to call your boss into a meeting.
Hey Microsoft, remember when you made the start menu bigger in win 8 and everyone hated it? Good luck changing everything about the UI. I’m sure it’ll be super popular this time.
It was. Hardware was absolute trash in the early-mid 90s.
Native is faster than virtualized, who could have ever imagined.
