Many people equate the DE with the distro they tried it on. So yeah, DE is a huge factor. There’s a lot of them out there and too many people think you have to switch distribution to try a new one.

I started playing Earth Must Die. Pretty funny although I haven’t at the earth must die part yet.

Für mich war das unser erstes “richtiges” Computerspiel. Nicht so ein kleines C64-Spiel. Keine komische Shareware. Sondern ein richtig langes Spiel mit einer richtigen Geschichte drin.

15 Disketten waren das, glaube ich. 7 für Clouds und 8 für Darkside oder so.

Was viele hier vielleicht nicht wissen: Das sind zwei volle RPGs zu einem noch viel größeren kombiniert. Might and Magic 4: Clouds of Xeen und Might and Magic 5: Darkside of Xeen. Wenn man beide ins selbe Verzeichnis installierte dann wurden sie zu World of Xeen. Man konnte zwischen den zwei Seiten der flachen Welt hin und her reisen. Entweder durch magische Portale oder man konnte durch einen tiefen Dungeon auf der anderen Seite wieder rauskommen.

Und man konnte das eine Spiel abschließen, das andere Spiel abschließen und dann noch im kombinierten echten Finale die Welt in einen richtigen runden Planeten verwandeln. Und ein paar weitere herrliche optionale Quests abschließen, wie ein enormer Dungeon der ein riesiges Kreuzworträtsel ist.

Ich spiele auch alle paar Jahre durch. Inzwischen wird das Spiel von ScummVM unterstützt und läuft so auf so ziemlich jedem Gerät.

BTW, in general you can change your desktop environment without switching the distro. They just often come with a default. But installing another is usually one command away and then you can choose at the login screen.

I listen to short science videos. I usually put them into a playlist of about five videos and fall asleep by the second. New videos or topics I know less about go first.

My favourites are Dr Becky, PBS Space Time, PBS Eons, Omega Centauri and Urknall, Weltall & das Leben. Angela Collier would be up there as well, but her videos are too interesting to fall asleep to. And I also like Looking Glass Universe, but she tends to show too much stuff you have to see.

KDE’s Activities could help you. They are basically completely different desktop layouts and open programs for different tasks. You could set up one for each website with a different Firefox and Thunderbird profile and desktop wallpaper and other things.

Hatte aber wohl auch bei manchen übergewichtigen Personen den Nebeneffekt, dass sie auf einmal problemlos abgenommen hatten. Hat aber auch bei anderen das Gegenteil bewirkt.

Das geht so weit, dass Kottransplantationen vorgenommen werden, um verschiedene Krankheiten zu behandeln. Ist ein noch recht junges Feld, aber das kann wohl ziemlich drastische Auswirkungen haben. Wird wohl vor allem eingesetzt wenn jemand so viele Antibiotika geschluckt hat, dass deren Darmflora fast komplett ausgestorben ist.
