Kyiv’s European allies threatened new sanctions against Russia, including a permanent block on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline that connects Russia to Germany, if the Kremlin doesn’t agree to President Trump’s 30-day cease-fire in its war with Ukraine.
NS2 hasn’t even started delivering gas, while I understand that Russia will want it to be operational in the future, I have a hard time seeing these types of threats as something they’ll pay much attention to.
But maybe I misunderstand the importance of these pipes.
Russia has supported Syria not only for the port but also to prevent this pipeline:

With the Syrian regime change there is no use for Nord Stream 2. This is an empty threat.
And afterwards we make it go boom for the gas it carries is drenched in blood!
