In uni english class I was at, professor once told the whole class “Max your passive is great, but active could use some work. Mike show him how its done”.

Its been decades I still remember it, she knew what she was doing and got away with ittt 😭

I don’t think I understand… I think you’re talking about passive and active voice, but what did she get away with?

where I’m from (CIS area) ‘active’ and ‘passive’ were common slang for ‘top’ and ‘bottom’

probbly my mistake, I thought it was an english thing too

I understood what you were conveying, though it doesn’t quite “land” as impactfully in English as it probably does in your native language. But it does work, and by the upvotes it looks like quite a few people understood what you meant.

Also, thank you for teaching me about the CIS area. I had to look that up, but as a geography nerd I’m surprised I haven’t heard that phrase before. I’ve mostly heard people state their specific country, or older folks saying, “I’m from the USSR.”

Nono, it’s definitely a thing in English. Used to be the dropdown options on some dating sites. Or so I gather.

Perhaps fittingly, I thought they were clarifying that the population of their area was predominantly cisgendered.
