edit: and if you’re trying to decrypt HTTPS traffic sadly the app probably uses cert pinning and thus decrypting it would be hard to do. if it didn’t use cert pinning that would be funny
You don’t need to see the content on the phone just identify individual phones there. They are accessing certain things you don’t need to see the message being transmitted to make your point.

good point! an IMSI catcher without MiTM capability would do the trick, you don’t need to decrypt traffic to have the intended effect
