The US deployed THAAD missile systems to Israel manned by over 100 US troops five days ago to provide support to the iron dome with the implicit threat of US intervention should Iran strike one. The next Iranian missile launch could be the starting pistol of a much broader conflict. Keep an eye out I suppose but I doubt you’ll miss the news of it.

Also, the Israelis announcing the completion of attacks on a country strikes me as odd. Is that normal?

Edit: just found out Israel basically didn’t hit all that much so maybe the world can rest easy another night

I think people are more encouraged to participated on lemmy than they are on reddit. I used to be able to make posts on a reddit community of 10s of thousands and never get a response. It almost never takes more than a few minutes here. Moreover, Reddit is spilling over with bots and has been for years and the responses you’d get to a post or comment are often obiously reflective of this.

I am going to take this as if you mean universal laws that cannot be violated and not laws imposed by a state. These are 3 rules that I think if everyone followed would lead to a world better than the current one.

• work to provide for those who are less able than you
• don’t knowlingly pursue unsustainable or unachievable goals

• Entropy must always increase with time in a closed system

I assume you mean blocking a specific post from being seen rather than blocking the user who posted it because in the latter case you can use the three dots to the bottom right of a post. As far as I am aware there isn’t a way to block specific posts at all? Do tell if there is.

I think a good implimentation would be keyword filters but the ability to conveniently remove posts from our feeds without seeing them would also be great for those of us who are more content sensitive. You should make a request on the github page.

My parents had decent taste and decent money when I was a teen. My first interactions with alcohol were expensive wines they were willing to give me a taste of and some expensive liquors I siphoned out of. I am now broke and all the liquor I can afford sucks. Their desire for bourgeois decadence ruined my college indulgences in cheap liquor.
