Not sure about Debian, but on Arch Linux, hibernation with FDE works perfectly on my Framework laptop. It took a little to setup; I use a swapfile for my swap. And it exists on my encrypted drive. You know your use case best,I found for my usecase, a separate swap partition (to say nothing about two separate ones) was restrictive and unnecessary. A swapfile works well and lives on an encrypted drive. No need to tinker too much beyond that. Check out the Arch wiki, it might not align 100% with Debian but those wikis are super informative and can teach you how the process works so you can apply to Debian.

Checkout Toshy. This has been a life saver for me.
Angel and Buffy.
If you’re technical at all, self host immich. or you and a few friends could get together and set up a pikapods for immich, it’s relatively cheap and I’ve heard great things about pikapods. I know storing photos shouldn’t require technical knowledge, but honestly unless someone you know and trust manages the service, it’s hard to know who can abuse your data. I migrated from google photos to immich myself and the app ecosystem (migration tools, mobile apps, web app) are great and provide much of what google photos provided.
Personally, I can’t wait to inline PHP in my rust code!
Neat. But it’s kind of concerning to see yet another OSS project hitch it’s community resourcing to Discord.
I’ve switched from Quad9 to Mullvad DNS a month ago, and I’ve been noticing some domains aren’t resolving. Domains that shouldn’t be blocked. It feels like Mullvad’s rules are extra restrictive.
The key for me was being told: it’s okay to ride (to hold) the clutch a little before/during/after you’re switching gears.
Asahi Linux is shaping up nicely. I’ll probably install that soon. 👀
Make one, if for nothing else as a portfolio piece!
It’s funny. I have been forced to use macOS because of work, and I use rectangle to mimic what KDE plasma does out of the box. I’d suggest using KDE if you wanted something powerfully customizable and user friendly. If you find something that works with other windows decorations (non-KDE), I’d love to know about them too for when I inevitably switch back to Linux Desktop!
We are in a privacy community. A privacy community with a specific website that makes recommendations on messenger apps. And yet, OP is asking for an opinion on comparisons between Signal (recommended by the guide) and Telegram (which isn’t even in the guide). Why would this be necessary if they weren’t thinking Telegram could be a private and secure messenger too? Even tho it’s not recommended on privacy guides. Draw whatever conclusions you want to fit your own world view. But just because others do so differently, doesn’t mean they’re bots. That’s a very lazy way to view the world. And that is also just my opinion. If you wanted to discuss the points of the article, I’m down. But if you’re coming in here to be reductive because you have a differing opinion, then this is all I’m going to be saying to you.
Thanks for the article. That’s a really good breakdown for most arguments of Telegram propagandists. 🙌
Hm? Not sure which Signal you’re using. But it very much still requires a phone number to use. Usernames are not available just yet. There’s activity related to usernames in the GitHub repository, but no release yet.
They did remove the ability to send and receive SMS from their Android app. That was about last year or so.
I’ve been wondering this too and watching lots of YouTube videos of people explaining their take. Truth is nobody knows and everyone is head canoning how TOTK fits. But I particularly like this video that describes the idea of a dragonbreak having merged the timelines back into one.
This would explain why the Tri-Force is missing. I hope there’s a third game that explains why people seem to have forgotten it’s existence.
Have you seen “Evil” or “From”? Both really great horror shows.
I bought one of these a while back but could never get it working. Skill issue probably 😅 I’ll try it out again!
