I am not arguing in any way for disarmament. But the fact that’s all anyone seems to think I’m saying is kind of proving my point.

1·22 days agoI don’t feel it’s substantially changed, you’ve just added more detail. You don’t need to care about my opinion though, and I’m not suggesting you should; I’m just sharing how I see it.
I just think it doesn’t matter. We live in an economy designed to suck every possible penny from every person and pay them the least amount it possibly can, to ensure the enrichment of the 1%
Someone wants to keep a few more bucks in their pocket rather than spend more in some principled stance that will change absolutely nothing anyhow, I’m not going to judge them for it. Life fucking sucks for just about everyone in the US right now, to varying degrees. On the list of things I might judge my fellow man for, that seems ludicrously privileged and self centered.
You don’t get to decide who is poor enough for it to be “OK” for them to buy the cheap tier. I mean, sure, you do get to have that opinion of course, but man I’m sorry I think you are really kind of a jerk to have this attitude.

Even today when the Republicans are years-deep into proving that all the worst things we’ve ever suspected about them and their motives are true (and more) folks are still more worried D wants to come take their guns away.
R is literally dismantling our government and trampling the rights of an ever-growing segment of our population, on a speed run to authoritarianism, but folks are still yelling about that tired bogeyman instead of using the 2A as they have always claimed they can’t wait to do. (Edited to add: And I’m not even suggesting anything super dramatic. A few folks open carrying would probably be enough. You know, like all the magas that camped outside of polling places with their AR for purposes that were 100% not voter intimidation.)

I think it represents a timely reminder that we now know those who scream the loudest about the 2A, and how we can’t do a damn thing about gun violence because it would erode their freedoms, have no interest in using it the way they’ve always proclaimed they must, as long as the right people are being hurt.
And I’m not actually anti-2A so much as I am anti-a-particular-sort-of-gun-enthusiast.

Every time I use my ereader I just luxuriate in the eink screen, warts and all. The very moment I can get an extenal eink display for my computer that is both of reasonable resolution and also not exorbitantly expensive, I’m doing it. I wouldn’t want it as a primary monitor but I’d love love love it as a secondary.
I definitely want an eink phone, but I doubt I’ll have the bucks to be an early adopter, which is fine.

If I write book one of a series that gets super popular and I make some great lump of cash from it, why on earth should you get to write book two with my characters and world, picking up from where my story left off, even if you only make 20K from it, without having to get my approval and likely enter into some kind of deal?
