Well, it is a huge problem for me. Home office, so no charging at workplace. And the only charging stations around where I live (eastern part of Berlin) are slooooow charging stations, meaning I would have to plan for a 6-hour visit to the supermarket.
Quick charge stations are few and far between, and in use most of the time.
That doesn’t just take a bit of time getting used to, it’s simply not feasible.

Es ist jetzt auch nichts, was mich reich macht, aber ja, klar. Ich habe z.B. einen nicht trivialen Beitrag geleistet, als dieser Spinner hier die Berliner Kältebusse angezündet hat.
Was mich viel mehr erschreckt, ist was ich an mir selbst beobachte: Sogar bei den eigenen guten Taten hat man Angst, dass sie irgendwie jemandem aus dem von mir eingangs erwähnten Personenkreis zugute kommen; also jemandem, der für die ganze Misere einen mehr oder minder kleinen Anteil der Schuld trägt. Und dann lässt man das Spenden plötzlich sein.
Es fühlt sich scheiße an, nichts gutes zu tun, aber es würde sich auch richtig scheiße anfühlen, irgendeinem dummen AfDler versehentlich auch nur einen einzigen Cent zu geben. Es ist wirklich ein wenig schizophren.
Ich für meinen Teil habe den Glauben an die Menschheit seit Corona mehr oder weniger verloren - obwohl wissend, dass die Mehrheit der Menschen vernunftbegabt, empathisch und zivilisiert ist.
Leider zeigt sich immer deutlicher, dass ein viel zu großer Anteil der Menschheit aus aggressiven, dummen, bildungsfeindlichen, unberechtigt selbstüberzeugten, irrationalen, asozialen Personen besteht - vorwiegend aus dem rechten Spektrum. Und der ist ein Problem. Und diese Menschen lauern überall.
Das hat für mich dazu geführt, dass ich viel wachsamer bin, mit wem ich über welches Thema rede. Und wenn mir im Verein, auf Arbeit oder sonstwo ein erkennbarer Blauzi oder Trump-Fan begegnet, dann treffe ich aktive Maßnahmen, meinen Kontakt mit dieser Person zu minimieren, denn für solche habe ich nur noch kalte Verachtung übrig.
Ach ja, und nebenbei fühle ich mich selbst ziemlich mies und schizophren angesichts der Tatsache, dass mein Börsenzeugs seit Trump durch die Decke geht. Auf dem Papier schön für mich, aber ein katastrophales Zeichen für die Menschheit, wenn der Aktienmarkt aufblüht, je mehr die arme Mehrheit der Gesellschaft bluten muss.
Mittlerweile halte ich es nur noch mit Zynismus á la George Carlin aus: Ich bin ein interessierter Betrachter, der zuschaut, wie wir immer schneller um den Abfluss kreisen. Und irgendwie fällt es mir immer schwerer, dabei nicht zu denken, wir haben das auch so verdient.

Yellowstone goes to the Vatican so they can prevent an eruption with prayers. The British kingdoms then go to Ireland, with the exception of Scotland, which goes to Bavaria because of cultural similarities.
Have we forgotten anything? Oh yes. Russia goes to Ukraine. For reparations reasons alone.
As a German I can confirm all stereotypes about us are completely true. We hate each other and ourselves, we only eat bratwurst and drink beer and we have no sense of humour whatsoever. My desktop wallpaper is a portrait of David Hasselhoff. I’m always punctual and I don’t know how to party, which makes sense because I work all day anyway.

Well, ideally you start new projects writing 100% Kotlin while only adding Kotlin code to older codebases you can’t get rid of. Personally, I don’t like mixing languages anyway and I would stay with Java in Java projects. One reason is the bloat argument you pointed out quite correctly.
True… but Kotlin makes Lombok quite unnecessary by having its concepts built in. It’s also worth to point out that null safety is opt-in in Java and opt-out in Kotlin.
Yes, there are things about Kotlin I don’t love either. But I still like how it was clearly developed having developer quality-of-life in mind.
Kotlin isn’t perfect and it gives the devs quite a lot of freedom. I would argue that if your Kotlin code is messy, that’s on you - but it will still be significantly less prone to failures like NPEs. Unless you opt out of null safety by using the dreaded ?-Operator.
NPEs are the reason why my team moved to Kotlin. Well, that and all the other myriad advantages Kotlin brings to the table.
