In terms of civility, I feel that respect should exist on both sides, if trying to argument or convey a point. There’s an important distinction, though. If you’re talking with someone about something that directly affects them while you’re on the other side, it feels and is different. For example, if you’re talking with a Latinamerican about what recently happened in Venezuela, your “argument” feels pretty much like an attack filled with hate, while on the receiving end that impoliteness towards this person is more about frustration and a negation of the whole reality they’re living. Violence by oppressors is hate, violence against oppressors is liberation. Of course no one is going to topple the US empire discussing online, but to illustrate my point a bit.

The thing is that Lemmy.ml is a general purpose instance, it’s not about promoting Marxism, but still it upholds values that for certain people look like inconceivable requisites. We do not ask you to become a communist, but simply to understand that the rules based order imposed by the US do not apply here. We want to hear what oppressed people cannot say elsewhere.
I used that comment as a ban but honestly I could have chosen any, they were all over the community commenting all sorts of things.

I think the only ones that do that are Showtime (which was already mentioned) and Clapper which looks even better IMO. I still have VLC installed because it has just so many other features but Clapper is really good if you don’t need to do anything weird with the video or subtitles to work. I really feel you on the GUI.

They don’t offer the source code of quite a few of their apps, they have very delirious ideas about what is identifiable information, they are trying to jump into the AI bandwagon, they don’t seem to have a serious plan to keep financing all the things they are doing, the dude wants to do some filtering of news based on “biased” “unbiased”, doesn’t listen to critique from users, etc.

Well, that’s kind of the thing, except for a few things I don’t want to customize it that much, when I’ve tried KDE in the past I just customized it a bit and it looked like shit because I didn’t spend that much time into it. I know you can make it look pretty, but I’d rather waste that time learning how to use Hyperland to be honest since it’s way more customizable and offers something else completely. Except for a better KDE Connect integration I don’t think I’m missing anything I would need on Gnome.
Am I the only one who thinks it looks ugly? Don’t get me wrong, they are improving it in many ways and it’s going in the right direction, plus a ton of features and customizability, but when I look at Gnome I don’t doubt for a second where I want to be.
What’s happening here is that you only have a system-wide remote configured, but you’re trying to install as user. Flatpak keeps two separate sets of remotes:
System remotes (available to all users)
User remotes (only for the logged-in user)
Since you have no user remotes defined, Flatpak can’t find anything when you do --user.
You need to add Flathub as a user remote. Run:
flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists --user flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
I managed to boot from the USB stick while running Mint in compatibility mode. I assume that if i burn and reinstall hopefully everything would be good if the hardware is working. Maybe I could fix it but I have no idea how to know whats wrong.
Ill try this, but i also cannot boot into Mint which is what i have on my usb. Also i didnt installed zorin bur rather just added the harddrive from another pc for use and forgot to format it, ive been using ot for a while like this,l. Do you think this os still my issue?

I used journalctl -k -f and this is the output, I’ve also tried dmesg and smartctl and replied with the output on other comments, and all show some kind of I/O error, I guess I’m fucked or can it be because of a bad cable or something?

I’ve never said that, my point is that are normal people who are indoctrinated and need discussion. They are much more likely to internalize that discussion if you do so in a civil manner, you don’t need to insult to get a point across. I know of many comrades who believed in imperialist propaganda but changed their minds thanks to people doing this. Maybe that’s not you case and you were born a Marxist Leninist.
