People have a boner for Simpsons seasons 3-8, the Conan years.

The Simpsons were excellent pretty much through season 12, much of seasons 13 and 14 are still legit.

I don’t disagree that most of the best episodes are in that era… But Trilogy Of Errors is forever my favorite Simpsons episode, and that’s S12E18. (Linguo… Dead??? “linguo IS dead.”)

I woukd go as far as to say that seasons 9 - 13 all contain at least one ‘top 30 of all time’ episode.

The fall off was not swift with Conan’s departure.

Big disagree.

1. It is unlawful for a gift card to expire in the US. (Ask Simon Malls how badly they got fucked for this.)

2. There are tons of expensive restaurants my partner and I are simply not going to go to unless we’re able to knock $100 of the bill.

3. Retired people are on a budget. Gift cards help them with that.

4. Often times people have niche hobbies wherein buying a present might have good intentions. but it’ll be in vain. I’m a beer snob. Do not get me beer as a gift, ever. Gladly take a gift card to a good brewery. I’m a musician – don’t buy me gear. I work and tinker with networking. Don’t buy me hardware. Give me gift cards.

They are low effort and high reward. They are excellent gifts, both to give and receive.

You can, in most game dev studios, develop game logic, maps, textures, meshes, characters etc.

People can buy them, use them, modify them, etc.

Then there’s the issue of like… Youre building in Unreal, and you want a portal that when you enter, you shrink my 10%. Okay that’s… That’s not in the engine. So. Yeah. The wheel you’re reinventing here is pretty big.
