That’s just on Indiana Jones and bad optimization. There are still plenty of other, newer games that should run perfectly fine. Of course the big, chunky games that are marketed as “Look at how graphically intense this is! Look at the ray tracing!” are going to run poorly.

Though I will absolutely agree that a lot of studios are throwing optimization out the window when developing new games, just relying on the latest hardware to power through it.

Honestly, this is 100% the solution for this problem, especially for sharing with a child.

Now, the issue of having a “license” and rights to play a game, vs actually owning the game is still a valid point of contention.

If I’m going to be fighting with Windows anyway, because of the registry giving me issues, then the drawback of “but Linux hard! You have to configure things!” was moot.

Things do get better. At 35 I’m now in a better relationship than I ever had before. I have new friends and new circles. A new chapter in my life was started, and things are better than they ever have been before.

I don’t know if this will work for you, maybe it doesn’t work out sometimes. But guys can, and do, recover from it.

They aren’t suggesting using a grease pencil as a better alternative to a graphite pencil, they are saying that the Russian cosmonauts used grease pencils before moving to a pressurized pen.

You don’t need to say “no thanks” to it, no one is suggesting using it. The first comment was ambiguous, but your response to this one is just baffling.

For two and three, even if there weren’t a genetic component, the lifestyle and dietary habits of a family absolutely do impact the next generation of the family. Learned behaviors that increase the risk of alcoholism or heart disease absolutely count as “runs in the family”. Further, “runs in the family” never meant “everyone in the family absolutely has it”.

I think they just mean that it builds strength of bones and muscle, and increases flexibility at a time in development when it will have lifelong (generally beneficial) effects
