The way their marketing had the text version of the product name written out is certainly silly. If they advertised it as “mk 7” or “mark VII” or similar, the text would clearly match the way I’ve heard it spoken, “mark seven”.
Though even then, it still wouldn’t be clear to the customer that this is the 7th iteration. I wonder how things would be different for Sony phones if they simply numbered their phones normally like nearly every other company. I bet the naming is one part that is contributing to their continued downfall.
