Started out on the fmhy.ml just prior to the .ml debacle. On lemmy.world now, but they have just started banning piracy communities. The new fmhy instance, of course, has already died before I got to try it.

sigh Married pasty male looking for lemmy instance that:

  • Has some decent uptime / Reliable / Not on a fly by night top level domain
  • Hates Nazi’s and doesn’t hesitate to ban, block and defederate such crap
  • Tolerant of piracy communities and federations
  • Oh, and will let me see comments in the Technology community. That isn’t working for me here.

Suggestions welcome.

I would point out that piracy is against our ToS, so we wouldn’t tolerate hosting piracy subs ourselves.

We aren’t defeferated from them. That’s different from hosting that content ourselves though.

I’m not personally against piracy, however hosting that kind of content here ourselves would put our primary reason for creating this space (that of providing a safe social space for trans and LGBTQIA+ people) at risk.

I just wanted to point that out before we get a whole bunch of piracy subs created on our instance that we’d have to remove.

sh.itjust.works is great, cause it actually does just work.

So far they meet all your criteria (except for defederating extremists, we hold democratic votings about it unless its something against the laws where we are hosted)

It seems that they censor comments to. In a thread earlier it seems that every time anyone hosted over there tried to coment the f-slur and it got changed to either removed in italics or for some users just ******. Kinda sketchy if you ask me.

Other than that come to sh.itjust.works, name is a little foul but they are very relaxed and dont do the censorship thing (as far as im aware) althought they are a little to entusiastic on tankie hate. Not that they are defendable (the tankies) but whatever.

That was a typo, it was suppose to say PseudoSpock. I am extremely sorry to have had it with that offensive misspelling. I’ve fixed it.

Noooo? Why? Did I say something robot like? When I was younger I could dance the robot… about the only thing I could dance, too.

Ah. Thought I’d offended you. Spock spelled with the wrong vowel can be a very racist word. I’d finished watching the breaking indictment news, sat down to dinner in front of the computer and re-read the thread, saw my mispelled sig and panicked. So I started re-reading every comment to see if I’d offended someone, as my comment with the mispelling had two downvotes.
