you’d be surprised to find out that’s not entirely true…I’m sure it stops some, but there’s a lot more it doesn’t stop

It limits usb to just charging when device is locked, so I don’t see how something could get through.

I’ve seen GraoheneOS is not the only one doing this.

Sounds like someone hasn’t heard of exploits.

If you have a very sensitive threat model, it can also limit charging to only when the device is off. Which is the most secure form of charging

I never trust my devices to not have a vulnerability exploitable via USB, possibly not patchable in software.

So I’ll never charge with an untrusted/public USB port without a non-data charge cable. If my threat level were higher I wouldn’t even use a friend’s charger.

this is supposed to be new information to people in this community?

I swear 99% of the posts I see here are just shit that I learned about right after the Snowden leaks…are people really that stupid that they can’t remember that what Snowden warned us about is still happening?

you know what? as I was typing that, I realized that people don’t know that Edward Snowden isn’t the wikileaks guy…so yes, people are indeed that stupid

That’s interesting, though wireless charging can be slower, and not all phones have it (mind doesn’t). I’ll keep it in mind though I tend to be suspicious of wireless, and wonder if some security exploit might turn up with wireless charging sometime. I had figured on just bringing a powerbank if I’m expecting to use any suspicious chargers. It hasn’t been much of an issue for me so far though.

Yep. I carry around a USB data protector in my bag at all times. They’re tiny, by 20. Put them around You’re going to lose them. They’re great.
