You’re too poor to retire, buy some shoes then
CONSUME!!
i think it’d be preferable for an average worker to buy one pair of shoes that can be maintained and repaired when broken and thus last a lifetime of work, because it would be cheaper than buy a new pair every year because the overpriced shit they keep peddling us can’t even be repaired beyond a certain point. but alas, such is life in capitalist west. capitalism is when no shoes (or housing, or healthcare, or representation in government, or freedom of speech, or no unecessary wars, or money…)
The funny thing is Timberlands are generally not great work boots and they have become more of a fashion brand than a work brand.
You know Vimes’ Economic Theory of Boots?
Timberlands are the ones you have to buy every year and end up costing you more.
Yup. Used to buy the timberland boondocks all the time . They were comfortable, yes, but lasted about 6-8 months $300 a pair. End up getting a pair of cowboy boots steel toe etc, $150 amazon from a friend. Never looked back. Almost 10 months in they are stating to wear out, but my work environment doesn’t let footwear last. Hyd oil, diesel, flames, sparks, sharp steel. Etc. The best part is that there are no greasy nasty ass laces to tie in the morning and undo at night just slip on/off and go.
Fuck timberlands and their garbage boots. Never again.
That’s why I wear Thoroughgoods.
Either I get to retire or I retire the ruling class
I wonder how long my cheap safety boots will last, 3 years already of daily usage, I havent worn anything but them and some flip flops at home
not before i retire some pigs first.
When keeping it real… goes wrong
