“That’s why Ukie strongly supports the use of robust classification systems like PEGI across all platforms, including those hosting adult or experimental content,” the statement reads. “We believe payment providers and platforms alike should have confidence in trusted age rating systems and the enforcement mechanisms behind them.”
Why do payment processors have to be concerned with age ratings at all?
Because THEY decided that THEIR opinions are better than everyone else’s, so YOU have to listen to THEM, willingly or not.
Something something free speech and all that jazz.
Because nobody will ban that legally, and people paying for adult stuff themselves naturally have made a decision.
So these people (the Russian word is pidor) are trying to sneak a block someplace else.
They probably are worried about litigation, and shareholder profits. It’s always about shareholder profits.
Nah, neither take works for 'em. Litigation? Being neutral bypasses all threats of bias. Profits? Porn is the only reason the internet took off as a profitable venture.
I’d bet some top dogs bowed to a little pressure for fear of bad publicity. That’s how these tiny religious groups threaten. That’s all the juice they got. And who’s going to stand up and say, “Nah. Fuck yourself. We want our porn.”
Well, I guess we all did stand up! (Do I still need to make calls, or is this thing done?)
