      Yes but they were insinuating until that sentence. It was a way to grab the reader’s attention so they would keep reading.

        They just met in the previous sentence. It sounds weird to “grab the attention” by holding some kind of sexual implication for a single sentence.

        Instead, I read it as a thankfulnes of the hospitality. If I were to crash at some strangers place, I wouldn’t be surprised if I was to sleep on the couch or sone improvised solution. Getting an actual bed for a crash night sounds like a good sign of hospitality.
