I am having trouble seeing how OpenAI survives without investment cash. What exactly is their moat? I know they are hoping to power the AI behind everyone else’s tech but that is more and more untenable as the others develop AI models of their own.
I just pray people see the shitshow in the USA and think twice about following suit. Not holding my breath though.

We should focus our efforts on getting inside the Dem party and taking over from within. Which takes time and effort. The capitalists did it to the GOP through MAGA finally after decades of effort. Unfortunately a lot of people think their only civic duty is to vote once every four years.
The real danger is the failing trust in traditional news sources and the attack on the truth from the right.
People have been believing what they want regardless of if they see it for a long time and AI will fuel that but is not the root of the problem.
Somehow to me that expression says ‘I am so comfy’ at the same time as ‘someone might try to displace me at any moment’

This is happening to a friend of mine that works at a mobile app company. Being very general so it doesn’t get back to her but:
They’re pushing an AI tool that does parts of her job with the idea that it is something that anyone at the company can access and use. Of course, what that’s going to do is give everyone extra work because they’ll be expected to use this tool in addition to their usual responsibilities. And it will add to my friend’s workload as well becaue she will now need to manage and review everything that everyone else generates before it can go into production.
So yeah same thing, they asked how they can use AI, instead of asking themselves what can streamline the workflows.
So much AI ‘innovations’ are just solutions looking for problems
I wish they would realize that if they jumped in the ring they would have the support.
And stop injecting extra ads into podcasts for subscribers
There is not enough concern in Europe right now about Russian hybrid war and disinformation. Leaders should be sounding alarms but it has been business as usual. Meanwhile Russia is on becoming emboldened. A great start would be for some people who care about EU values to start explaining to its citizens that they are already under fire.

I’m not a huge fan of my Samsun monitor either actually. There’s a lot of stuff in there that I don’t want or use, and most of what is in there feels pretty half-assed. Will definitely be trying another brand when it comes to replace it.
It just pisses me off that they have all the money in the world for their datacenters but not for the systems that power it
