• PTSD and CPTSD are very real and very damaging. Get the help you need without feeling shame. Nobody bats an eye if you go to a doctor for a physical ailment; mental issues should be treated with the same understanding.

Hijacking to say Complex PTSD by Pete Walker is a great read on the subject, even if you don’t think you suffer from cptsd, it’s very eye-opening.

No no this is Ice Cream and Sadness

Serious answer: they have an on and off event called depressing comics week, we’re instead of telling jokes with dark humor, they just create dark scenarios that aren’t funny at all.

Why? It is done intentionally to see if they can successfully create scenarios that make people sad. Which is all things considered actually a healthy exercise for someone who regularly engages in dark comedy to do. Helps them remember where the line needs to be kept in order to keep things funny.

Nah man, not true. It may need more time or work or therapy and it might be hard, but you can get over that shit.
    YOU can do that.
YOU will get over that shit!

I hope this is true. After 20 years of keeping it secret I’m finally in therapy for being raped as a child.

I would be so happy if the flashbacks and memories would go away… Or be more manageable.

God damn it this comic upset me.

Yeah, fuck this comic. Life often seems static, but it’s always a flow, it’s always changing.

I don’t know you, but I’m silently cheering for you! And I’m glad to hear that your fighting the good fight. My bets are definitely on you getting better with time.

I went to therapy, they basically told me: toughen up buttercup, here’s the bill.

I’m just gonna live with this until i can no longer bare.

FYI “toughen up buttercup” is a term of bullying and abuse. It is often used to dismiss and belittle someone’s feelings, and to tell them to stop complaining or feeling sorry for themselves. This can be especially harmful if the person is already feeling vulnerable or insecure.

I don’t really know what to say to this, i could go: “story of my life” and come across in a bad way.

I know it’s harmful, i’m used to being on the receiving end with those kind of things. It’s like people made it a sport to dissmiss and belittle my ass.

Ugh. Took my kids to their school for schedule meet and greet. Saw kids who looked like the ones who bullied me when I was their age and all the emotions and memories came flooding back. These are kids 1/3rd my age and strangers, they have no power over me and yet I felt messed up.

Oh hell. I’ll just push the whole need for expensive counselling aside and carry on with my life then.
