I was wondering if anybody received any responses from the form on Fightchatcontrol.eu
I received one today (Ireland) even though I submitted months ago. It seems that the opposing countries are rising which is good, but Ireland are next in line for the EU presidency (I think taking over in January 2026) and the current minister for justice seems to be very much in favour of it.
Here is the reply I received today:
Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to thank you for your correspondence regarding the proposed Regulation laying down rules to prevent and combat child sexual abuse, for which the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, Jim O’Callaghan TD has responsibility.
As the prevalence of online child sexual exploitation and abuse continues to grow, the need for effective legislation and international co-operation becomes all the more important. Online service providers must be empowered and, where necessary, compelled to detect, remove and report such abuse on their platforms.
Ireland supports the draft Regulation’s intention to place a mandatory obligation on all service providers, rather than leave any ambiguity about the responsibilities service providers have, to address child sexual abuse and exploitation on their services.
The proposed Regulation seeks to establish a harmonised legal framework, which will set out the responsibilities for providers to assess and mitigate risks and, where necessary, to detect, report and remove such abuse on their services. The proposal builds on the Digital Services Act, which lays down horizontal rules in relation to illegal content and complements it with provisions to address the specific challenges posed by child sexual abuse material (CSAM) online.
Ireland supports the fundamental principles underlying the Commission proposal, i.e. that it should apply to all forms of online child sexual abuse, and that it should be technology-neutral, and applicable to all relevant services.
Ireland is satisfied with the safeguards contained in the proposal in respect of privacy and data protection, particularly the necessity that detection orders be issued by a court, having taken into account the fundamental rights of all parties. Detection orders are a measure of last resort, are time bound and targeted at a particular service, that has failed through other measures, to effectively prevent the dissemination of CSAM on their service.
Negotiations are on-going for this proposal, and the current text around detection orders and end-to-end-encrypted (E2EE) services specifies that in the instance where a detection order is issued to a provider who uses E2EE, the provider is required to detect the dissemination of CSAM prior to its transmission in the encrypted channel.
The privacy concerns associated with the proposal are recognised, and much of the negotiations have focused on ensuring that users’ rights to privacy are appropriately balanced with the protection of children and of child victims of abuse.
Ireland strongly supports the introduction of robust legislation at EU level to tackle online child sexual abuse and exploitation.
Yours sincerely,
Emma McHugh

i got a reply from the co-chairman of the left party in the eu parliament. their statement was expected - he opposes chat control and sent me a link to the new shit the EU is up to: a digital free trade agreement with singapore.
Hallo,

Thank you for that, I had never heard of the Singapore agreement. They are going into very Machiavellian territory That is honestly very scary to me, or it reads that way if correct.
The Singapore Agreement, which is planned by the EU Commission, has so far received little public attention, but it promises to interfere with the rights of EU citizens.
The so-called DTA (Digital Trade Agreement) regulates the digital trade in goods and services. It is the first trade agreement of its kind and is intended to serve as a template for future agreements. It provides for a de facto sale of our data to Singapore and carries dangers. The data protection system in Singapore is less strict and EU data could be resold to third countries, for example to China. For others that cannot read German - Please translate the above message, to continue reading.

I haven’t read that yet, as it is 01:25am and I am two hours past my bedtime.
It’s ridiculous that chat control 2.0 only negatively affects ordinary people, while politicians are exempt—rules for thee, but not for me.
That’s one of my biggest gripes. The politicians voting on deciding this should remember that people will be watching and remembering every single tiny piece of dirt on them and it will be published. It’s not a nice feeling. Phones could be stolen with private data on them, laptops etc. Horrible to have all of your personal data being taken.
I wonder if they no longer get elected, do they become the Plebeians, and would their devices automatically be scanned from then on.
Seems that if this goes through, the only way around it would be to run for government.
“Seems that if this goes through, the only way around it would be to run for government.” Well in that case, you can go to cyprus because they vote for anyone.
They do in Ireland too.
We also have quite a few clowns in politics here as well.
What a load of crap.
The privacy concerns associated with the proposal are recognised, and much of the negotiations have focused on ensuring that users’ rights to privacy are appropriately balanced with the protection of children and of child victims of abuse.
Reads as “get fucked, you will not have any privacy, this was the intention btw”.
“also, fuck them kids”
